Complete home automation?

My goal is complete and total home automation. Everything that can conceivably be automated, I want automated. Think Tony Starks house from Iron Man. Anywhere on the web where I can find DIY plans, or anything of the like. I am a complete novice, and it seems like a fun project that would eat up about a years worth of free time.
