What is the first thing I should do before separating from my wife?

I would like to work it out but my wife says she wants too but doesn't want put any action to those words. Bitterness and resentment are all I get when bring up our marriage, all she wants is zero communication or tells me what to say. She stopped celebrating our anniversary years ago, so it's time. We have two kids.
