Advice on buying a guitar amplifier?

I would look at the Marshall BluesBreaker. it has very good jazz, blues, clic rock tones. The fender virbro-king (as you mentioned) and the super reverb are nice. Also the Soldano SLO-100 and the Marshall JTM-45 were great amps that were both used by Eric Clapton.
